Good Neighbor Committee
The Skybot Software Good Neighbor Committee plans volunteer events for our employees. The events allow us to help our neighbors in the community and build our skills as a team through helpful hands-on work. Each employee receives one day off per year to work on Good Neighbor events. When planning events, the Good Neighbors select a variety of organizations to help, and choose different ways to help them.
United Way/Community Health Charities
Like many businesses, Skybot Software has an annual fundraiser for the United Way/Community Health Charities. The three-day event always raises thousands of dollars for our local agencies and includes fun events like Turkey Bingo, a chili cook-off, and a silent auction.
Other events have included:
- Bundles of Love, a baby shower to benefit the crisis nursery, that also included a Dilly Bar fundraiser.
- Happy New Year packages for Minnesota soldiers stationed in Iraq.
- The Emergency Food Shelf Network food drive, where we collected 428 pounds of food and $75 cash.
- Feed My Starving Children, where 15 people worked a shift and packed 6,912 meals (enough to feed 19 kids for an entire year) and others donated $131 cash to provide 770 more life-giving meals to children around the world.
As always, we look forward to new opportunities to help our neighbors in the coming year. Don't forget to pause and count your blessings!
