New in 2.5 Export/Import, Plus! Migration Tool
The Export/Import feature in 2.5 reduces transition risk, speeds implementation, and helps you convert jobs from other scheduling tools.
Export — Move jobs and scheduling objects from test environments to production flawlessly. Select the jobs you want to move and Skybot Scheduler exports the data and creates an import file for you.
Import — Use the Import Center to upload the import file onto your production systems.
Migration — Export jobs from other scheduling tools and convert them to Skybot Scheduler jobs. Simply export the job information and map the data to an import file recognized by Skybot Scheduler.
Cron Scheduling
Do you have a lot of cron jobs you don't want to lose? Skybot Scheduler lets you import crontabs and convert them to Skybot Scheduler jobs. This means Skybot Scheduler’s tools—Dashboard, Job Flow Diagrams, and Reports—are available to view and manage cron-type jobs. You can also create a new job that uses cron-type scheduling parameters.
Job Flow Diagrams
Job Flow Diagrams display the entire chain of prerequisite jobs and event monitors in your event-driven schedule. You can place sets of jobs with similar functions, or sets of related jobs, into a layout that helps you understand your schedule. You can add notes and other documentation to the diagrams. You even can edit jobs and event monitors directly from a diagram.
Microsoft SQL Server Jobs
Skybot Scheduler lets you integrate Microsoft SQL Server® jobs into your enterprise schedule. This means Skybot Scheduler's powerful tools—reactive scheduling, job history, Dashboard, auditing—are available for managing Microsoft SQL Server jobs across your Windows servers.
Launch Windows Applications
Skybot Scheduler includes the ability to launch GUI applications on connected Microsoft Windows® agent systems.
File Transfers
Skybot Scheduler makes transferring files easy. You just to set up the FTP system, enter file names and directories to work with, and Skybot Scheduler writes the command for you—automatically.
Tags
You can use tags to organize jobs, agents, calendars, dates, and Skybot Variables. And, you can use tags to filter your current view.
Output Distribution
Output Distribution lets you send job logs through e-mail, save important files to the server, and send output files as an e-mail attachment. You can view, save, or delete output files from a menu option or from job history. This means administrator and end users can receive these results in their personal mailbox or on a mobile device.
Skybot Variables
When you need to enter dynamic values into your job, such as the job date and time or the operator on duty, Skybot Variables are the answer. Skybot Scheduler automatically replaces the variable with the correct value, dynamically, before it executes the job.
Scheduling Objects
The Skybot Scheduler program lets you create scheduling objects such as calendars, environments, FTP systems, notification lists, and command sets. You can attach the same objects to multiple jobs to reuse them and to simplify job setup and maintenance.
System Monitors
Skybot Scheduler includes system monitors to let you know when something has happened on one of your servers. You can monitor for events such as changes to a file or directory, when a process starts or ends, or your own user-defined events. For more complex batch job scheduling, you can use these event monitors in Skybot Scheduler as prerequisites for reactive jobs.
Role-Based Security
With Skybot Scheduler role-based security, you can specify your own security roles or use the roles that are already defined. Either way, you can ensure that users can access only what they need to perform their tasks.
SNMP Traps
SNMP traps work with many popular network monitoring or problem ticketing applications. The Skybot Scheduler program works with SNMP traps to notify you or enterprise monitoring software of events, such as jobs running over or not running at all. And, Skybot Scheduler can react to the arrival of an SNMP trap to start a job or process.

Agent Groups
Agent Groups let you configure a job and run it on multiple systems. You simply define an Agent Group, assign agents to the group, and assign the group to one or more jobs. This saves you time by not having to update multiple jobs that run the same commands. And, adding or removing systems is as easy as adding them or removing them from an Agent Group.
Schedule Activity Monitor
The Schedule Activity Monitor (SAM) lets you see detailed job schedule information from a single, graphical display. You can view your current forecasted, queued, running, and completed jobs. Customize your view by changing the number of jobs and the number of hours shown. You can right-click a job to run, hold, or release it, or view the status of its prerequisite jobs. SAM helps you recognize variations and inefficiencies in your schedule, and gives you full control to make adjustments, as needed.
Time Zone Support
You want to schedule the same job, such as nightly backups, to run on multiple systems at the local time of each system. Time zone support makes this possible! Users can select server time zone or agent time zone when setting up jobs. Selecting agent time zone will make sure the jobs run according to the agent's local time.
Dashboard
The Dashboard helps identify trends in your job schedule, event monitoring, and product setup. Adobe Flash charts show recently ended or terminated jobs, the busiest agent systems, and recently processed Job Monitors, SNMP Traps, or Agent Events.
Forecasting
Forecasts display the schedule for all jobs over a specified time, including start time, expected run time, and prerequisite (dependent) jobs. The forecast chart makes it easy to find opportunities to plan outages for maintenance or rescheduling jobs.
Reporting
Skybot Scheduler Reports make it easy satisfy compliance requirements. You can create and access PDF files of settings, forecasts, audits, or a comprehensive run book of Skybot Scheduler from the Skybot Scheduler browser.
Job Monitors
Job Monitors check for jobs that run too long, complete too quickly, or start later than their scheduled time. With Job Monitors, Skybot Scheduler job scheduler notifies you immediately when there's an issue to help you meet your Service Level Agreements.
Job List
The Job List summarizes your job schedule. You can sort or filter the list to see just the information you need to easily perform and manage batch scheduling.
History
Skybot Scheduler provides detailed history of your jobs, agent event monitors, job monitors, and SNMP trap monitors. If there is an error in a job, it's easy to find and fix the problem, quickly.
Cross-System Reactivity
Skybot Scheduler can react to jobs, agent events, job monitors, or SNMP traps on any connected system. You can start a job automatically when another job completes, when an agent event occurs, or when another job starts late, runs too long, or ends too soon—on any system in your enterprise!
