Must-Read Blogs (and other resources) for AIX Folks
I attended one of the best webinars of the year at a Power IT Pro Virtual Conference last week.
The presentation was called "Hands on AIX 7." The speaker, Rob McNelly from Meridian IT, presented some great information on managing your Power Systems. Rob was recently named an IBM Champion for Power for his work with customers and Power Systems.
In addition to great subject content, Rob knows how to make a presentation interesting and worthwhile to attend. He sent out several links to useful resources that I’ll share with you.
Guides
Tablespace.net
With downloadable "quick sheets" and "quick start" guides by William Favorite, Tablespace.net is a great place for anyone new to the *nix world to find good information quickly.
Blogs
AIX Down Under
Anthony English, another IBM Champion, writes "AIX Down Under" from Australia.
Chris's AIX Blog
Chris Gibson, another blogger from Australia, offers great new insights on the AIX world.
AIXchange
Rob's blog AIXchange is written for IBM Systems magazine.
AIXpert
AIXpert is written by Nigel Griffith.
Webinars
Another great source of information is the AIX Virtual User Group. Monthly webinars are recorded and archived so you can search based on what you need to know and find the answer in one of the recordings. Here's an archive of all AIX VUG webinars.
I hope these links give you some new sources of information for managing your AIX systems. If you have any other great resources that you’d like to share, please post them any time. Thanks!
